Good To Know

Lhaviyani Atoll, composed of 54 islands, of which only 5 are inhabited, is locally known as Faadhippolhu. Here you'll find Kanuhura, a long beach with fine white sand. If you're looking for something quieter, the nearby deserted island of Jehunuhura is the perfect place to enjoy peace and unspoiled nature. For diving enthusiasts, Lhaviyani offers some of the most spectacular sites in the archipelago: located mainly in the northern part of the atoll, the dive spots are within a 16 km radius of the Kuredu resort. The coral reef is characterized by caves, steep walls, and an extraordinary variety of marine life. The most impressive sites include Felivaru, Fushifaru Kandu, Kuredu Express, and the Fushifaru Thila Marine Protected Area, where you can swim among grey sharks, moray eels, tuna, and Napoleon wrasse. If you dream of close encounters with marine wildlife, Kuredu is home to giant turtles, while in the waters of Fushifaru Kandu, you can spot majestic sharks. Naifaru, the capital of the atoll, is famous for its mother-of-pearl crafts. Whether you want to relax on pristine beaches or explore underwater wonders, Lhaviyani Atoll is a must-visit destination for an unforgettable Maldives trip.

How to reach it: Located in the northern part of the Maldives, the atoll is easily accessible from Malé Airport with a 30-40 minute seaplane flight. Additionally, a new domestic airport will soon open on Madivaru Island, making the atoll even more accessible to tourists.
