What You Need To Know

Noonu Atoll, also known as South Miladhunmadulu Atoll, is one of the most stunning destinations in the Maldives. Comprising 71 islands, of which 13 are inhabited, the atoll offers the perfect balance between natural beauty and history. The capital of the atoll, Manadhoo, is the largest natural island and serves as the starting point for passenger speedboats connecting the surrounding islands. Since 2019, the opening of the Maafaru International Airport has improved accessibility, allowing up to six jets to land simultaneously.

Noonu Atoll is rich in history. On the island of Landhoo, you can find the remains of an ancient "hawitta", a megalith attributed to the "redin" people, who are believed to be the first settlers of the Maldives around 2000 BC. The atoll is also home to the Edu Faru Marine National Park, which preserves its extraordinary marine and terrestrial biodiversity.

The waters of Noonu Atoll are a paradise for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts, with a wide variety of marine species such as spinner dolphins, snapper fish, and fusiliers. The most renowned dive sites include Edu Faru, Christmas Tree Rock, and Orimas Thila, each with spectacular underwater formations and a vibrant marine ecosystem.

How to reach Noonu Atoll: it's easily accessible from Malé by taking a domestic flight to Maafaru. From there, transfers by boat or seaplane will take you to your resort. For a unique experience, try the overnight ferry that departs from Malé's fish market and arrives at Velidhoo, offering an authentic and fascinating journey.
